Problem In Part 1, we have allowed user to edit directly in the treeview. However, if you click on any field in the last column (Price), and just press return, you will find that the price changed to $0.00. This is because of the '$' sign in front of the number.
We'll fix this in this article as shown below:
Solution
- Set up treeview to allow editing as described in Part 1.
- In the signal handler for the signal GtkCellRendererText::edited, remove any '$' and ',' before updating the value back to the model. This is because for the model, the last column (price) is defined as a double. Any '$' or ',' will make the value 0.
