Problem By default, the search column for the for the interactive search in a GtkTreeView is column 0.
Suppose you would like to change the search column for the interactive search to another column as shown below:

- Set column 2 (i.e. the Qty column) as the search column.
Note
Note that for the interactive search, the match always start from the first character. Suppose you would like to have free text search within the searched text. For example, if the search column is 1, typing "36" will not match "item 36". You have to type the whole text "item 36" to match the text. I'll show you how you can match "item 36" by typing just "36" in the next article.
