I uninstalled the component and module, then re-installed the component. The compnent appears to be installed - I can get to the configuration.

How do I test if the component is working without installing the module.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Cheers,

Erich

Hi,

Please refer to: Re: Help! safe_mode / open_basedir error

Alternatively, have you tried using the fread() method? (Go to Module Manager in the parameter options)

Hello kksou

Really Eager to use your Yahoo Stocks Module+com, but I'm having the same problem.
Tries uninstalling/reinstalling com and mod in different orders, php safe mode is off according to my php info.
What can I do ?
Running Joomla 1.5.23 in php5.2.17

Many thanks

To be more precise, I get the "YAHOO STOCK QUOTE
ERROR >>> You need to install the Yahoo Stock Quote component to run this module!" message

Hi,

Sincerely apologize for the late reply.

Based on the error messages, it seems like you are not using the corresponding module with component.

You should use the module and component that you see at the download page here: Download links for both components and modules

By the way, the module makes use of the component. So please install just the component first. Make sure the component is working first. Then add the module. The module does not run without the component.

Thanks, both were installed.
In fact, I just did not know a MENU ITEM with the component had to be created first, I never used any module in this way, and this is never clear at any moment in the guidelines.
It does work now, however the upd and down arrow symbols do not show on the stock table (broken link to image symbol), even if the images are there in the correct folder.
This is the same on your demo site actually.
