DISREGARD this question. Per this link http://www.kksou.com/php-gtk2/Joomla/Glossy-Accordion-Menu.php#demo I followed a comment by Marians who used another plugin called Articles Anywhere. I now have my menu displaying as expected. Now it appears like I wanted the GAMenu to appear. Sorry for the premature post.
