Associate Plugin with article 12 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi there, relative newbie at this so please forgive the simple question.

I wanted to ask precisely how do you associate this plugin within an article?

Is there only one way to do this, or several?

If several, what would determin the preference?

Hi,

Would you want to be a bit more specific what are you trying to achieve so that I can better answer the question.

By the way, may I know which plugin are you referring to?

Regards,

Hi,

Have you taken a look at the list of tutorials for googleMaps plugin? The first one is here: googleMaps plugin Tutorial 01: Getting Started

There are quite a lot of sample codes there. Please give it a try and let me know if you bump into any problem, ok?

Regards,

Hi KKsou, yes I have - I suspect I am being really thick here :)

I have instlled the plugin and entred an API code. the plugin is enabled.

I have added code e.g.

to an article.

The article is published and I currently see the above code displayed as text - I have checked in the editor and there are no additional <p> type tags etc.

I am using php v.5.2.17 in the hosting platform

what have I missed??

OK that was scary! your site displays the map not the code (surprise, surprise!) code was [googleMaps addr="1600 Amphitheatre Parkway,Mountain View CA 94043"] but in curly brackets...

Hi,

As you can see, you tags are ok. That's why the map appears.

Can you please give me the url of the website that displays the map? Need to do a view source to find out more clues as to what might be the problem.

Also, can you please double check that you have enabled the plugin?

Regards,
/kksou

Hi KKsou, Many thanks for you patience here :)

Yes the plugin is definately enabled - I checked again this morning

The site involved is for Chinese students and is at www.BestStudentAccommodation.co.uk. so much of the text is in chinese!
The map (should) appear on the Portsmouth tab (an English page :))... you will see the code there.

Please let me know if I can be on any help...

The only thing I can think of is that I have not completed the install properly.

I have created a googleMaps API key and installed it in the plugin - could it be something in this set up that I have done incorrectly?

Hi,

Can you give me the url so that I can do a view source of the page to see if I can gather more clues from there?
