Hi,

I installed your component and module on a Joomla 1.5.4 site.
it does seem to work, but I always get following error message above the search results

JFolder::folder: Path is not a folder: /language

Hi,

I just tried a fresh install of Joomla 1.5.4 (English version). Both the component and module work fine. I don't see the error.

I need to be able to replicate the error in order to solve it. So please give a bit more details:

a) Please try install googleSearch on a fresh install of Joomla 1.5.4 English version. Do you see the error?

b) Did you install any additional language files? Seems like it's the language files that causing the error. Which one is that? Are they compatible with Joomla v1.5.4?

c) Any other plugins that you've installed?

d) Try adding the rest of the plugins one by one. You should be able to find out which is the plugin that's causing the error.

Regards,
/kksou

That's strange. I've tried three times. Still didn't get any error.

Any other people got the same error?

Or could anyone show me how to replicate the error?

I'm seeing it too with Joomla 1.5.3. It only appears if I put in the Adsense ID. If I don't put that in, its fine.

Okay, its trying to access a folder named language at the root of the hard drive and not your Joomla installation. If I create one at the root, the error goes away. Not an ideal solution, but it works.

I can also confirm that by removing the adsense ID the error does not appear. Hope this helps.

P.S. what folders did you create and where were they placed?

First Thanks for the componant and to keep it free.

I have the same issue in 1.5.3 Stable.
In use the official french lang-pack (downloadeable at http://joomlacode.org/gf/download/frsrelease/7416/25774/fr-FR.site.1.5.3.zip).

Some one other user suggest to create a folder name "language" at the root of the server and it's work but it's not a solution for a hosted site just for a local site.

Nota 1: i have installed only the componant of googlesearch and not the module;
Nota 2: i use sh404sef and if i deactivate the plugin sh404 sef then no problem occurs.

I have also a warning of sh404sef that says :
Warning : Invalid argument supplied for forearch() in
/var/www/joomla/administrator/components/com_sh404sef/sh404sef.class.php on line 2186

The error JFolder::folder seems to comes from this php files of the sh404sef componant because just before the foreach in warning their is the affectation of $path with the JFolder::folder class.

An incompatibility between GoogleSearch and sh404SEF componants ?

Yes, an incompatibility between these 2 components.
I just uninstalled SH404SEF and the error is gone on searches.

Unfortunately I can not get rid off SH404 and not using my publisher ID is not an option...

This Googlesearch component is really nice but I can not use it...

waiting for an update.
