How to exclude certain modules from results? 3 Years, 4 Months ago Karma: 0
I'm currently running 1.5.11 and Eventslist 1.0 RC on Joomla 1.5.8. When I run a search on the site it sometimes yields results directly from the Events Calendar Module. But when you click the result link, a 404 page appears.

How can I get the googleSearch component or module to leave out the results of the Eventslist Calendar Module or have it simply ignore specific modules/components/etc?

Hi,

googleSearch simply uses the Google AdSense API. The entire search result is returned and controlled by google.

What googleSearch does is only to help you make the google search result appear in your Joomla page.

You will find that the search result returned by googleSearch is exactly the same when you search the keyword using google.com.

To exclude certain pages from the search result, you need to inform Google not to index those pages. There are numerous websites that describe how to do this. Just do a quick google and you should be able to find them.

ah, okay. I thought maybe that's what I'd have to do. Thanks!
