Sample Code 164: How to tab out of GtkTextView - Part 1?

Problem

Normally when you press the Tab key, the cursor will move to the next widget. However, in a GtkTextView, it inserts a Tab, and the cursor remains in the textview.

Suppose you would prefer pressing tab to move out of the textview as shown below:

What's new here:

  1. Set up key-press-event.
  2. Is it a tab?
  3. Yes, move the focus to the search box.
  4. No, return a false and let the default handler handles the key.
