Explanation We make use of the code from How to display a 2D array in GtkTreeView - Part 5 - get user selection?
What's new here:
- On linux, just start typing any character and the interactive search will appear. On windows, you have to press CTRL-F.
Note
By default, the search is performed on column 0. In the next article, I'll show you how to change the search column.

Another new point is the " if ($iter==null) return; " in the user_selection function.
Otherwise the application throws some warnings because the interactive search doesn't select any rows automatically. The applications doesn't crash but it's really annyoing.

The interactive search feature doesn't seem to be fully implemented into the windows php-gtk2 libraries. It seems only to work without any errors on Linux!

Hi Wilhelm,
Yes, I've noted this in the blog article: http://www.kksou.com/php-gtk2/blog/?p=73
It works with the old versions of php-gtk2 (alpha and beta). But it doesn't work on the latest php-gtk v2.0 and v2.0.1.
