Hi,

I have installed Glade 3, but the icons do not show in the Glade 3 IDE.

I have installed Glade 2 as described at www.kksou.com by downloading gtk-dev-glade-2.10.11-win32-1, and used it successfully. I have also unzipped the Glade 3 file as described.

The only possible odd thing I notice is that even though I'm as sure as I can be that I have downloaded and installed Glade 2.10.11, when I click 'Help About' the version shown is Glade 'Help About' is 2.12.1.

Any tips, please??

Would you mind detail the steps you have taken to install Glade3?

For example:

1) Download and installed gtk-dev-glade-2.10.11-win32-1

2) Download and unzip glade3 (from where...?) What is the name of the zip file?

3) I suppose you didn't uninstall Glade2?

4) How did you launch Glade3? What is the folder where you have uninstalled Glade3?

Need a bit more information in order to try to figure out what might be the problem.

I found that just installing this (http://downloads.sourceforge.net/gladewin32/gtk-dev-2.12.9-win32-2.exe) did it for GTK & Glade 3 on Windows, quite easily.

Thanks for your responses.

I now have Glade-3 working on Windows XP SP2.

I successfully took Vadi's suggestion downloading from: http://downloads.sourceforge.net/gladewin32/gtk-dev-2.12.9-win32-2.exe

Points of interest:
1. This download now simplifies the Glade-3 installation procedure, using just the one self-extracting exe mentioned above.

2. The download file name suggests version 'gtk-dev-2.12.9', but the Glade IDE 'help about' displays Version 3.4.3.

3. There is no glade-2.exe in this download, only the glade-3.exe, which is working.

4. The default property for the initial window in my first application was 'visible=no'. I thought the application wasn't working, but (as you would expect) when I set 'visible=yes' there it was !!!

Glade doesn't follow Gnome's numbering scheme, hence why the versioning is different. But the GTK version of 2.12.9 is the latest stable one, so you're good.
